Location

The Karlsbad – Angersdorfer Teiche is a natural open-air bath located in the southwest of the urban area of Halle (Saale), between Angersdorf and Halle-Neustadt.
It originated from the remaining pits of three former clay quarries that were operated until 1925/1926 and subsequently filled up with rising groundwater and rainwater. The natural lake covers an area of 5.3 hectares, has an average water depth of 2.50 meters, a maximum water depth of 8 meters, and a beach approximately 100 meters in length. It is used as an outdoor pool, event location, and local recreation area. Like the Friedrichsbad Zwintschöna, the natural bath is operated by Freizeit & Event GmbH, which renamed it to Karlsbad – Angersdorfer Teiche in early 2021. The water is slightly saline, which is presumably due to an underground brine inflow, making the lake the only salt lake in the region.
A campsite and various culinary highlights will be set up on the grounds specifically for the “Eastside Festival”. In addition to the musical highlights, guests can look forward to a shopping area with scene-typical products, various leisure activities, daytime bathing fun, street food, cocktails, and a wide range of services. Showers and plenty of toilets are available on site. Please pay attention to the arrival instructions and safety guidelines for the festival.
